Risk-Scoring Fraudulent Android Apps with GenAI

Fake banking and utility APKs distributed through WhatsApp, Telegram, and SMS are a growing source of fraud in India. APKookies is a project that uses GenAI to identify potentially fraudulent Android applications and generate explainable risk scores. This session provides an overview of how the solution works, how it detects suspicious apps, and how it helps explain potential threats. It also features a live demonstration using sample APKs, key development challenges, lessons learned during the hackathon, and opportunities for future improvements.
